Your Needs
At our office, our goal is to serve you, the patient and to restore and maintain your overall oral health. Here is a list of SOME of the treatments we offer:
Dental Hygiene: Whether it’s a routine cleaning or a deep cleaning, regular visits with the dental hygienist is one of the critical factors for keeping healthy teeth. In the United States, the most common reason for tooth loss is not fractures or decay…it’s gum disease. A hygiene appointment is much more than just getting your teeth cleaned. Our hygienists will work with you in building a comprehensive homecare plan specifically fit to your needs and preferences. We’ll answer all your questions, help you pick the right hygiene products and give you tips on how to avoid problems later. Did you know that regular cleanings lead to better overall health by decreasing inflammation
Bonding: The placement of tooth colored fillings can very quickly change your smile. Much of the time bonding doesn’t require any anesthetic and sometimes little or no “drilling”. We can close gaps between teeth restore chipped off corners, repair or replace old stained fillings or get rid of discolorations.
Veneers: A more longer-lasting treatment for cosmetically improving your smile. Whether it’s one veneer or several, it’s not just for great looks; a veneer can also strengthen and help support an anterior tooth that has been weakened by numerous fillings, for example.
Tooth Whitening: We offer different levels of teeth whitening and we focus on the safest and most cost effective methods. It’s really nice to reward yourself with a bright smile that can come in as little as 2 weeks.
Sealants and Fillings: Whenever we can, we like to catch things when they’re small and easier to fix. We offer Sealants as the first line of defense on the pits and grooves of your teeth to “seal” these higher risk areas before they develop decay. We use a micro-sandblaster to clean the grooves before we seal them. We can also use this technique to restore early cavities on teeth—that means no drilling and no anesthesia!! When a cavity is more advanced, we are well versed in the artistry of placing tooth colored composite restorations that can blend in with the surrounding tooth color.
Crowns: When a tooth has fractured or has been attacked by a large amount of decay, a crown can save the day. A crown restoration restores a tooth to its natural anatomical shape and can not only cosmetically improve things, but it can also strengthen and support the tooth. A crown can also prevent a tooth fracture especially in a case where a large amount of natural tooth structure has been replaced by filling material. Crowns can be made of different materials such as gold, porcelain or a combination of gold-and-porcelain. Dr. Varadi will help you decide which material is best for your specific situation.
Loosing a tooth: is usually the last choice and a missing tooth has consequences and almost always, a tooth replacement of some kind should be considered. A missing tooth can cause drifting of the remaining teeth, bone loss, diminished chewing function and over-stressing of the remaining teeth; not to mention the potential cosmetic consequences. There are numerous options to replacing missing teeth.
Fixed Bridge: A fixed bridge is permanent solution for a missing tooth or multiple teeth in the same area. A bridge attaches to the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth space by way of crowns. It’s a really great option when the remaining teeth would benefit from a crown restoration AND there’s a missing tooth between them.
Implants: The best way to replace a missing tooth! As opposed to a fixed bridge (above) an implant is self-supported and does not rely on neighboring teeth for support. It is supported by your jaw bone—the same way your natural teeth are! And dental implant will NEVER decay, never be sensitive and they are very strong. They are very similar to natural teeth in terms of chewing and they also help to maintain and support jaw bone.
Dentures and Partial Dentures: When multiple teeth are missing, a removable prosthesis may be the winning option. Multiple teeth can be replaced economically in a very cosmetically pleasing way. There are many choices when it comes to dentures and partials including the newest option: highly esthetic, metal-free partials that can disappear in the mouth. Another option is a denture attached by a couple of dental implants for the firmest fit available. Dr. Varadi will help you decide which option is best for your particular situation.
“Friendly Anesthetic” —Anesthetic is a huge advance in dentistry, however even when the shot can be given painlessly, most people still hate the hours numbness that they have to deal with after the appointment. Dr. Varadi uses a method of anesthesia that only numbs the tooth being treated; it does not numb the lips cheek or tongue, and it only lasts 20 MINUTES! It’s called a PDL injection and it works great for small fillings in isolated areas. At the end of the appointment, many of Dr. Varadi’s patients say “that was great! Is that something new?” No, this technique has been around since the 1970’s, but for some reason not everyone uses it!
Invisible Orthodontics: Straight teeth are not only a cosmetic benefit. Teeth that are properly aligned are easier to clean, have fewer problems with gum disease and are healthier for chewing and biting due to evenly distributed bite forces. But not everyone is willing to wear braces for a year and half. Invisible orthodontics is a method offered by Dr. Varadi that is the same idea as Invisalign but much less expensive. Your teeth can be realigned by your wearing clear plastic aligner trays on your teeth. The trays disappear in your mouth and the best part is you can continue to brush, floss and eat without anything extra in your mouth! A typical treatment takes only 3 to 4 months. This is a great method for someone who’s had braces in the past, but the teeth (especially the front teeth) have drifted back and gotten crowded again.
TMD treatment: EVERYONE grinds or clenches their teeth in their sleep. It’s part of the sleep cycle. However, for many of us, the grinding can become a destructive problem. Bruxism as it’s called can cause broken teeth, wear, sensitivity, facial tenderness, headaches, and jaw joint problems. Often a custom made splint or “night guard” can do a lot to help in decrease these consequences. However, we also offer a mini-night guard that only fits on your front teeth.
Snore-guards: Snoring and Sleep Apnea can lead to a very long list of health problems. These range from not getting a full night’s rest through having heart problems due to decrease amount of oxygen in your blood. OSA: Obsructive Sleep Apnea is an airway difficulty problem. We offer a custom “snore guard” which helps open the airway. The TAP 3 device can be quite successful for people who snore, but also for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea. It can be a great alternative to a CPAP machine and/or surgical methods.
Oral Cancer testing: Part of our commitment to your overall oral health is giving our patients regular oral cancer screenings. If something suspicious is noticed, we can administer a brush test called Oral CDx that can screen for early pre-cancerous areas in your mouth. The test takes a few minutes and does not need anesthesia.
